Tron: Legacy

I remembered watching Tron as a kid. For a movie that was 28 years old, it became a cult classic, based on hacking and programming for the early 1980s. 28 years ago, I wasn't really there yet but I did watched it when it was on the TV. I can't remember the detailed plot then (I was just a mere kid) but I do remember the classic body light and the Light Cycle. It's like reliving the 16-bit game in real life.

Fast forward 28 years later, the sequel emerges. Jeff Bridges reprises his role as Kevin Flynn. He managed to return to the Grid and got stuck there, leaving his son, Sam Flynn. 20 years past and Sam became the biggest shareholder to EMCOM. He was called back to his father's arcade and was accidentally transported into the Grid where he reunites with his father. Now both father and son will fight their way out into the real world.

Ratings: 3
If this sequel came out way back in the 90s, it'll definately be another cult classic. The story is quite draggy but the Grid is still quite spectacular. Better Light Cycle and they even included a Light Jets, though it seems more over-rated than a classic return. The non-aging CLU is very animatronics, based on the technology of the thousand Agent Smiths from the Matrix. The movements are still quite rigid. Fine, the tech is still improving, just a bit over-rated to me. So in general, it's just over-rated.

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader

The third instalment to the Chronicles of Narnia, after The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, and Prince Caspian. The Voyage of the Dawn Treader has a different feel than the first two movies.

Firstly, it's revolves more in the waters than land. Narnia is at peace, hence no more great battles of mystic creatures. Secondly, not all Penvensies siblings are present. Edmund and Lucy, the younger Penvensies returned to Narnia together with their cousin, Eustace accidentally in tow. Eustace is very annoying but brought in a lighter side to the new crew.

Ratings: 4
A fact for watching a novel based movies, do not expect much of the movies if you read the book, it'll be a world of dissappointment. Imagination is limited on screen. Hence I rarely read fantasy books such as Twilight and Harry Potter but I'm an avid movie follower of the series.

Rapunzel: A Tangled Tale

My little sister nearly lost her bet about the actual movie title. To her, it's Tangled which is actually the title used in US. While her colleagues pointed out that it's Rapunzel. Well it's partly correct, it's Rapunzel: A Tangled Tale.

To start of, I don't really recalled the actual story of Rapunzel except that for her extraordinary long hair. And I was even amazed of the actual grim stories existed behind every fairy tales. Interesting stories as I read it up.

Anyway, the story goes like this:

Old Lady found magical flower believed from the sun rays, flower makes her younger, she hid flower from others, pregnant queen grew sick, kingdom searches for flower, knight found flower, bring back to queen, queen got well, queen gave birth to baby, baby has hair of gold with magical power same as flower, old lady found out, old lady kidnapped girl, place girl in tower, girl grew older, girl grow curious of the world, girl managed to get out of tower and so on...

Ratings: 3.5
Who wouldn't love a Disney Fairy Tale?? It's definately a laugh with the charaters introduced. Though I'm not too keen on the musical number.

Le Petit Nicolas

I just love foreign movies. Fine, American movies are still foreign movies too. Foreign to me is a language I'm unfamiliar with, hence in need of subtitles.

Anyway, Le Petit Nicolas or Little Nicholas in English is magnific. It's more like a French version of Diary of a Wimpy Kid. It's about Nicolas being pressured for assuming himself being a brother. He and his friends set up a scheme to ensure that his parents would still love him and keep him in the house. Such young and innocent dilemma.

Ratings: 4
Le Petit Nicolas is such an adorable show with great laugh and nice family portrayal.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1

Part 1 of the last installment of the Harry Potter movie franchise. I don't read the book so I expect a lot from the movie. And with every new installment of the series, the movie get darker and more grittier. True enough the show is quite gritty and there's a lot of fade to black.

Lord Voldemort is back and Harry has to find a way to defeat him. Without Professor Dumbledore to assist him, Harry has to find the remaining Horcruxes and destroy them. Harry ran into many despair from friendship and situations.

Since this is only part one of the finale, the show does not leave you hanging by the end of the movie. The movie is split wonderfully. Fine for me who don't read the book, so not much disappointment.

Rating: 4
A finale much awaited for eventhough it's just the first half. Just another 8 months till the true ending.

Talentime

I saw an advertisement that the show will be on TV during Hari Raya Haji, but I can't wait. So I dugged out from my stack of DVDs and played it.

Talentime is the last movie from the late Yasmin Ahmad. Her movies are well known for its controversial content, same as her other 4 movies that I watched; Sepet, Gubra, Muksin and Muallaf.

The movie revolved around a group of students involved in their schools talentime. Discrimination of races have been an issue with majority and we'll see how the students go along with the discriminations.

Ratings: 4.5
I'm being biase but Yasmin Ahmad's works are always great. So far, she is the best in the malay movie scene and will be remembered as one.

The Sorcerer's Apprentice

The Sorcerer's Apprentice is a Disney movie. Nope, not staring Mickey Mouse but some parts of the movie has an extensive reference to the movie Fantasia.

It's about Merlin's apprentice Balthazar (Nicholas Cage) searching for the successor of Merlin. For decades, he searches for the Prime Merlinian and met Dave Stutler.

During their first encounter in Balthazar's antique shop, Dave accidentally released Horvath, Balthazar's nemesis from his imprisonment in the Grimhold.

Horvath came to get hold of the Grimhold to release the many level of imprisonment to release Morgana, who did not complete her world domination berfore.

Ratings: 3
Not that superb but not that dull. Nice amount of action.

The Social Network

Being an entrepreneur is about taking risks and even led to loosing your own best friend whom could be your only friend. Most ironic thing is you're an entrepreneur for connecting 500 millions friends.

The Social Network is a story adapted by a non-fiction book, 'The Accidental Billionaire' by Ben Mezrich about Mark Zuckerberg and the founding of Facebook. From the start, I sees Mark Zuckerberg as an a-hole especially on how he treats his girlfriend and friends. But a wise and intellectual a-hole with a noted compulsive behaviour.

We'll see the growth of an idea into the current multi-billion dollar social network website that I too love to use, and also it's lawsuit that arises.

It's a new view of seeing most entrepreneurs as a-hole but the risk they took to make something so successful till it would worth billions. It shares the current views of living in a cutthroat society where people who wish to be successful in life but forgoing the values of friendship and trust.

Ratings: 4
A refreshing view of being an entrepreneur and see the risks they endured to be successful in life, or some values of it.

Megamind

It's been awhile since I anticipated a movie to release. There's not much interesting movies before November. Now winter seasons starting, good movies are coming up. One of them is Megamind.

Dreamworks did it again with a great animation. Megamind is the 'Good Versus Evil' kind of movie, it's the fight between MetroMan and Megamind. But what happen when Evil won? Megamind succeeded defeating MetroMan, and took over Metro City.

Time passes by and Megamind got bored since no one is there to stop his evil deeds. So he creates a new hero, Titan. But things goes haywire and it's up to Megamind to be the new hero instead.

Ratings: 3.5
Great show but MetroMan has a close connection to DC Superman. The show build-up is slow and the comedic moments is quite as lame but still have plentiful of good laugh.

My Spy

I shall not be bias about the movie entries, so I will input even malay movies. Most malay movies nowadays are some sort crappy, unlike show from P Ramlee, movies in the 80s-90s where there are substance. Only malay movies that are worth watching to me are show by the late Yasmin Ahmad. Her show packs a lot of meaning. Some movies by KRU productions should be noted too. Their technological use are quite commendable for a Malaysian movies.

My Spy is an espionage-comedy movie produced by KRU productions and directed by Afdlin Shauki. It is about a competing private eye AJ (AC Mizal) and Salleh (Harun Salim Bachik) working together to uncover the secret relation of Datuk O but ended up in a totally different situation.

Ratings: 2.5
Watch it once. The show is funny but the technology behind the show is commendable for a Malay movie.

Scott Pilgrim VS The World

I have been waiting for this show for ages. Firstly, I didn't realized that it was based by an American Manga comic published by Oni(I mostly read Marvel, DC, IDW and Dark Horse). Secondly, the teaser and trailer look awesomely cool.

The show is about Scott Pilgirm (Michael Cera) who met Ramona Flowers at a party after constantly seeing her in his dreams. But to date Ramona, Scott has to fight and defeat her 7 Evil Ex-es. Each ex has a unique ability that Scott has to cope with. Plus, Scott is still in a relation while dating Ramona.

The fights is like playing a video game. With the the life bar, onomatopoeia, life up, K.O. and this that you can find while playing games.

The humor is as great as the fighting scene. Corny as it may seems but still does the laugh.

Ratings: 4.5
Action plus comedy is awesome. The fights is like a video game and the movie is just hilarious.

Knight And Day

Knight And Day is an action comedy about a spy on the run, Roy Miller (Tom Cruise) who constantly bumped into June Havens (Cameron Diaz). The organisation Roy was running away from were wondering what was June connection with him.

The actions may not be that superb but the way Roy did it was just awesome with his cool and calm execution. The chemistry between Roy and June is quite lovable. Cameron Diaz is meant to play this quirky character like most of her other characters she played.

Ratings: 3
Great actions and comedy, and plus them together would be awesome.

Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore

Cats and Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore is a straight-up kids show which somehow older people will like it too. Well I liked it too.

A continuation of the first movie, we'll meet characters from the first movie. This time, DOG HQ recruits a police dog to catch the notorious Kitty Galore. But the cat agents from MEOWS, also are searching for her. Hence, they did what both animals would not do, a team-up.

Ratings: 3.5
The show is just damn adorable and the comedies are laughable or a good snigger.

How To Train Your Dragon

I've watched this in the movie in 3D quite some time ago. But it's just great that I would love to watch it again, sadly in 2D this time.

The movie is about a teenage boy who live in a village that normally been raided by dragons. It became a tradition that the villagers will grow up to be a dragon slayer except for our teen hero, Hiccup.

He befriended the most feared dragon, Night Fury when he managed to down the dragon in a raid. Though he has to keep their friendship a secret.

Ratings: 3.5
Animations or kids show has to make the most fearsome creature a cute and adorable one, just like those Pokemons. But the relationship with human and dragon is just too damn adorable.

Paranormal Activity

This show has been released about a year ago. I first watched it on flight back from Japan. Due to the small screen, I gave up because I can't see the details. And not because I was scared. So I managed to look up the show since PA2 was showing in the movies. Who knows I might watched it, so I have to refresh my mind on the first movie.

Paranormal Activity is about a couple Katie and Micah who are haunted at their home. Micah wanted to document the event by filming the events around their home.

The movie started supebly slow and the horror only starts at the 23min of the show. Expect some horrific experience from then on.

The tagline 'Don't See It Alone', you should heed the warning. And from what I've watched, I've seen 1 of 2 endings. This is the original ending feature in the movies and internet. The alternate ending is featured in DVD and BlueRay.

Ratings: 3.5
It's a 'found footage' movie just like Blair Witch but less of the motion sickness and more detailed footage. It's pretty scary to watch it alone too

Toy Story 3

Toys will soon be discarded, given away or sold off when you outgrow them. Lucky for me, I still cherish my remaining toys even at this age.

Andy is going off to college and in dilemma to keep in the attic or donate away his toys. During that decision, his mother mistakenly took it and donate it to a daycare centre. All the toys loved their new home where they will constantly be played and has many new friends but Woody still thinks they belong to Andy, safely stored in the attic

But the whole daycare runs like a mafia ring. Their leader, Lots-O'-Huggin Bear runs the whole daycare operations and the toys were placed at the abusive childrens. It's up to Woody to bring the whole team back to Andy.

Ratings: 3.5
A very meaningful movie about toys on what you could do after you're done playing. Even to collectable toys. You should pass it on no matter what.

Karate Kid

I love the first three Karate Kid movies. And this time, the actions sets in Beijing. The lushious beauty of the country and the Great Wall of China intrigued me to visit the country.

The Karate Kid is about Dre Parker (Jayden Smith) and his mother relocating to Beijing to start a new life. Trying his best to fit in, he met into trouble with the towns bully, Cheng. In attempt to learn self defense, he met up with the building maintenance man, Mr Han(Jackie Chan) who reluctantly though him Kung Fu.

To prevent Dre from being bullied further, Mr Han went to meet Master Li, Cheng's master to stop his students from bullying the young boy. But instead, Mr Han and Dre were challenged to take part in the upcoming tournament, where Cheng and Dre will fight to settle the score.

Ratings: 4.5
It is as great as the 3 movies though they should rename it as Kung Fu Kid. Great fighting scene and cast. Cheng is protrayed like a true badass.

I Love You Phillip Morris

I Love You Phillip Morris is based on an actual real life event of Steven Jay Russell (Jim Carrey) who is con artist, imposter and multiple prison escapee. Steven is realized that he is a homosexual and falls in love with Phillip Morris (Ewan McGregor).

Steven and Phillip were seperated during a transfer so Steven went to plot an escape and bring back the two together.

Ratings: 4.5
Love can really do wonders and you'll be amazed to what extend Jim Carrey's character will do to get back with Phillip.

The Men Who Stares at Goats

The Men Who Stares at Goats is a slapstick war comedy about a reporter, Bob Wilton (Ewan McGregor) investigating about the US military using physic powers.

Bob met up with Lyn Cassady (George Clooney) who was once in the special forces where the trained in as psychic spies or Jedi Warriors.

The show has it's intellectual element to it. You'll be wondering if the psychic element is for real or that the team Jedi Warriors are a bunch of retards.

Ratings: 3
The things people to do and believe when they have special powers. It's funny to see the characters training in maniacal ways to achieve empowerment in body and spirit

Cop Out

Two longtime partners, Jimmy and Paul (Bruce Willis and Tracy Morgan) were suspended without after causing a disastrous shootout and beating a kid. Jimmy needed the pay to pay off her daughter's wedding.

Jimmy decided to sell of his prized baseball card but was stolen during a shop robbery. Getting his cards back led to another mishap connected to the case the got suspended from.

Ratings: 3
A funny cop buddy movie.

Machete

Who don't love movies by Robert Rodriguez. Ok, I don't really fancy his Spy Kids francise. His B-grades movies are just too darn awesome.

Machete is no one new in Rodriguez films. He was first featured in Spy Kids as the kids real uncle. Machete was also featured as a fake trailer in the Grindhouse movie, but soon to be released as a real movie.

In the movie, Machete was hired to assassinate a senator but was set up during the assassination. He is out for revenge to clear his name.

Eventhough Machete is a B-Grade movie, it boast with tons of great stars. There's Jessica Alba, Robert DeNiro, Steven Seagal, Lindsay Lohan and Michelle Rodriguez.

Ratings: 4
The show is packed with actions and gore. It's even packed with naked women too, Jessica Alba and Lindsay Lohan to name a few...

RED

RED or Retired, Extremely Dangerous is a movie adaptation of Warren Ellis comic of the same name. As much as I love comics, I didn't know that such comics such as RED and The Losers. Comics adaptation movies are growing better by the day.

The show revolves around Frank Moses (Bruce Willis), a former black-ops CIA agent. Someone had placed an assassination on him so it's up to him to find out who and stop whomever it is. So he got help from his former allies and even enemies, whom mostly have aged.

Ratings: 4
I just loved comics adaptation movies, even those that I'm not sure off. The humor is great and some of the actions are awesome. And I find it amazing for the oldies to be up for actions. Check out Helen Mirren with army boots and a sniper rifle. Amazing I tell you.

Shutter Island

I've always admired films by Martin Scorsese. It's mostly dark and gritty. Shutter Island is no different. The show is a psychological thriller which is quite slow plot development. But the impact is worthwhile.

US Marshall Edwards Daniels (Leo DiCaprio) was assigned to investigate the disappearance of a psychiatric facility on Shutter Island. He was assigned a new partner, Chuck Aule (Mark Ruffalo). The island is not what it seems, there are some cover-up going on the whole area.

The plot development grew intense as he dig deeper into the island mysteries. As it develops, you could put into pieces but might still fail at the end.

Ratings: 4
Good plot and partially expected ending as you put the puzzle pieces together. But it still may not seems what it is.

Land of the Lost

It's seems like a Will Farrell marathon for the past 2 days. But the guy can be funny.

Land of the Lost is based on a TV series of the same name. Rick Marshall (Farrell) is a paleontologist whom controvesial theories about time warp and paleontology is adored by graduate student Holly Cantrell. Holly convinced him to finish his tachyon amplifier and accidentally warped them to an alternate earth.

There's definately mishap with Will Farrell around, from primate-like man to Tyrannosaurus to giant mosquito and leeches, to lizard-like aliens, troubles will surround him.

Ratings: 3
Good laugh but with irritations. Just pure stupidity yet enjoyable.

The Other Guys

The Other Guys is somewhat fresher to most Will Farrell's movie. It has this weird relationship with every characters throughout the movie. Though the weirdness is tolerable because it's hilarious.

Somehow the show is not what it seems. It took me a while to understand the plot of what's going on in the show due to all the weird stuffs. It's unexplanable, best to be watched.

Ratings: 4
It's weird and hilarious. A sure watch

Jonah Hex

As much as I love comics, I don't really follow all especially cowboy ones. Jonah Hex is a DC comic character based on the Post Civil War, hence a yee-haa cowboy kind of era.

Jonah Hex is a post civil war soldier who disobeyed orders from Quentin Turnbull which resulted the death of Turnbull son. In revenge, Turnbull destroyed Hex family and disfigured him. Hex survived the ordeal when a group of Native healed him and granted him with a power to temporary ressurect the dead by touch. An excellent way to interogate the dead.

So Hex found out that Turnball was still alive so he continue to avenge his family.

Ratings: 3
Interesting storyline and power, but I don't really enjoy western movies.

The A-Team

It has been awhile since my last movie, all due to work. But finally managed to catch up on a movie I've been dying to watch. I've known the 80's show A-Team about the van and Mr T. But the van is no longer a highlight of the show and Mr T reincarnation as BA Baracus was not much of a bad ass. Bummer. No wonder people wasn't fond of the movie.

But without Mr T and the G20 van, the show is still quite commendable. The characters of Hannibal Smith, Faceman and Murdock were portrayed sufficiently. However, the budget for actions were awesome. The actions and make-do weaponries are cool. Plot of the show, same as the show. A team of elite Rangers branded as war criminals for a crime they didn't commit. They managed to escape and tries to clear their names.

Ratings: 3.5
Good actions and good laugh. BA may not be much of a badass but the chemistry with Murdock is just too adorable.

Predators

Predators is as great as the first instalment of Predator with Arnold Schwarzenegger. It deals more with character development than Predator itself, not that I'm not a fan of the alien species.

A group of selected human were abandoned in an uncharted planet where they found themselves to be hunted. The group who were predators back on Earth are being preyed by alien predators. Each human possesses a different abilities such as mercenary, assassin, sniper, Yakuza etc. It's a game of survival, either be preyed or you seek out your predator.

Rating: 3.5
As good as the first Predator movie with references from the first movie.

The Batman VS Dracula

OK, it's been a vampire movie day. This time it's the Batman Vs Dracula, a movie film from the Batman series. The whole art concept of the Batman is based on Jeff Matsuda, who also produce Jackie Chan Adventures and comics such as Kaboom(Awesome Comics). If you don't know it's OK, importantly I like.

During the ancient times, the villagers of Transylvania managed to defeat Count Dracula in his sleep and transport the remains out of Transylvania to Gotham. The coffin was left heavily chained in the tombs of Gotham Cemetery. Till Penguin accidentally pry open the tomb in search of treasures.

Dracula was resurrected by Penguin drop of blood and terrorized the City of Gotham. It's up to the Caped Crusader to hunt and defeat the original Man of Bats.

Rating: 3
Batman stories are never a bore especially if he's a hero who relies on wits and gadget to save the day.

Lesbian Vampires Killers

It can't be a serious movie with a title like that. A British movie about vampires with the 2 great buddies, James Corden and Matthew Horne.

2 friends went for a road trip, not realizing the town was cursed. Met a group of girls who mostly end up as vampires. Vampire hordes all lesbians and big-breasted(some bared) tries to suck the living hell of the heroes. Vampires tries to resurrect Vampire Queen Carmilla. Untold prophecy reveals that Horne is a descendant of Carmilla slayer and Horne came to the rescue and defeated Carmilla.

Rating: 2.5
Horne and Corden are a great comedic pair. The boobs and quick laugh is quite commendable.

Killers

Seems more like a Mr and Mrs Smith movie. But Killers is about agent Spencer trying to achieve a normal life after he met Jen during his last assignment.

They got married with Jen totally oblivious of Spencer past. Till she found Spencer fighting with his friend. Apparently, someone has activated assassins to eliminate Spencer.

It's such an amusement to see that all the people you know in your life suddenly comes hunting you, from your neighbour, to your colleagues, and even your best friend.

It was expected on who called out the assassination. Watch to figure it out.

Rating: 3
Lesser of the actions but good on it's laugh. A lighter side in the world of espionage

Get Him To The Greek

Get Him to the Greek is a spin-off to Forgetting Sarah Marshall where Russell Brand reprises his role as Aldous Snow, a British rock star. Though Jonah Hill is a totally new character, Aaron Green who still worships Aldous Snow.

The show is about Aaron trying to get Aldous Snow to perform at the Greek Theater for an anniversary performance. So his boss, Sergio(played by Sean Combs) sent him to fetch Aldous from London and bring him to Los Angelus.

Aldous returned to drinking and drugs after his single "African Child" was called the 'worst thing to happen to Africa since the apartheid', broke up with his long-time girlfriend and lost custody to his son. So he's not sober and made life difficult for Aaron by bar-hopping, delaying flights and drugs.

The show is full of drunkards and drugs in a funny way. Still watchable for kids.

Rating: 3
It's not the haha funny kinda a movie. It's more like seeing someone getting drunk and the mishap that follow after

The Storm Warriors

Ok, I'm quite versatile with what I watched. I can watch any foreign movies but I can't comprehend Hindi or Bollywood. And as for Chinese films, I won't pay to watch it in the cinemas because most films will be dubbed in Mandarin. It's a distraction when the lips don't synced. So I'll watched most Cantonese films over DVD.

Anyway, The Storm Warriors is a 2009 sequel to The Storm Riders which was shown in 1998 (11 freaking years for a sequel). Aaron Kwok and Ekin Cheng return as Cloud and Wind destined to overthrow the rule of Japanese invasion of warlord Lord Godless. To gain more strength after their first defeat, our heroes venture to  learn a more powerful art.

Cloud trained with the legend Nameless and came up with a new sword style. Wind however trained under Lord Wicked in the evil arts. Wind's training was not completed due to a distraction from Lord Godless troops. This caused Wind to be consumed by eviland Cloud to fight Wind to regain his true self.

Rating: 3.5
The wushu and martial art sequences are just too spectacular. The battle scene are portrayed as a view from a comic with real life characters. Be good if they can 3D-fy the movie

Grown Ups

Boy will be boys, some longer than others.  That line works well on me. But not sure if it still be when I get married. My life aside, Grown Ups is another movie by inseparable duo, Adam Sandler and Rob Schneider, with Kevin James, Chris Rock and David Spade joining the crew.

The movie is about a group of 5 junior high basketball champion getting together for their coaches funeral. Now married with kids, except Spade, they get together at a summer home after the funeral. It's great to see grown guys reliving their childhood and teaching them to their gadget-deprived kids.

The show packs a lot laugh. Each comedian provides different types of humor from sarcasm, klutz and dumb.

Rating: 4
Great laugh

Resident Evil: Afterlife

I didn't expect them to come up with a continuation after third movie. But RE:A is the only zombie movie that I can tolerate. It seems like movies nowadays are coming up in 3D, so RE:A joined in the bandwagon. And they did a good job in for every action. The matrix feel and 3D view makes viewing interesting.

RE:A takes off from Resident Evil: Extinction and a reunion of Alice and Claire Redfield, and another reunion of the Redfield siblings. Wentwood Miller is a excellent portrayal of Chris Redfield, Claire's brother. Alice and the Redfield siblings makes an excellent trio. Their action are just too awesome.

Though the boss fight seems like a bit too Matrix-like. The main villain Albert Wesker seems more like a Matrix agent and the fight sequence seems all too familiar.

Spoiler Alert! Expect a continuation with the return of Jill Valentine(Didn't noticed it was her till I wiki the movie)

Rating: 3.5
A tolerable zombie movie with not much zombie action but the actions are still awesome. Recommended in 3D viewing.

Superman/Batman: Apocalypse

Superman/Batman: Apocalypse is a direct-to-video movie adaptation of the comics storyline "The Supergirl from Krypton" by Jeph Loeb and the late Michael Turner. It is also a sequel from Superman/Batman: Public Enemy.

Even though the title states Superman and Batman, the movie features top characters of the DCU such as Wonder Woman, Big Barda, Darkseid and Doomsday.

Apocalypse follows directly from the storyline and even the great artwork of Michael Turner. The movie introduces Kara Zor-El, cousin to Superman and her growth to become Supergirl. Though the movie ending is different from the comics.

Rating: 3.5
Great adaptation in storyline and artwork. And if Supergirl is real, I hope she'll be my girlfriend.

The Expendables

I don't really like Sylvester Stallone but this time his directions is to be credited for. And the show is packed with top action movie stars.

Stallone together with Jason Statham, Jet Li and Mickey Rourke are elite mercenaries, The Expendables hired by Bruce Willis to overthrow a Latin American dictator.

The show packs a lot of explosions and great gun fights. Statham blades play are awesome. Each characters irritates each other perfectly.

Another great part of the movie is it's packed with great top action movie stars. I did mention it before but it's worth mentioning again. They even had a cameo with the 3 great action stars, Stallone, WIllis and Schwarzenegger dissing each other.

Ratings: 4
Great actors line-up, great actions, great fights and great humor. What else can we ask for.

Salt

Salt is a great action movie. And Angelina Jolie is great for this kind of shows and character. Tomb Raider, Mr and Mrs Smith and Wanted are great movie that Angelina delivered perfectly.

Jolie plays Evelyn Salt, who is accused of being a KGB sleeper agent, and goes on the run to try to clear her name.

The show is fast paced and you see Salt running for her life. The chase scene are all tremendously superb. Not much of those CGI action sequences. All the action seems real.

Rating: 4
Another great spy movie with great action and Angelina Jolie. Nuff said

Repo Man

There wasn't much great movies in the cinema and not much time to go out as well. Hence ended up watching something at home. Going through my movie files at home and found this. Boy it was a wrong show for me.
Repo Man is about Remy(Jude Law) working for The Union to repossess past due organ transplant. Yup organ transplant. So there's a hell lot of dissection of human flesh and rummaging the body for the implanted organs. I sooooo don't like medical operation procedure.

Anyway, Remy is a top performer for his job until an accident occur that made him get a transplant himself. His emotions started to change about the job his doing and affected his performance, causing him to unable to pay for his own transplant. Hence his colleagues had to chase and repo him.

Rating: 3.5
Good show just that there's loads of dissections going on.

Inception

Truly an amazing movie of the year. Love Chris Nolan work on it. A sense of Dark Knight meets Matrix atmosphere.

The movie is about Don Cobb extracting information from a subconscious mind of victims while they dream. He was offered a chance to get back his old life by performing a last job, performing inception, planting an idea into a mind.

The whole entering of dreams and into another dream within dream is quite compelling. The role as an architect is quite cool and I just love the way Ellen Page does it.

Ratings: 4.5
A must watch movie

Vampires Sucks

Vampires Sucks literally sucks. It's a forgettable movie parody of Twilight.

The movie parody of both Twilight and New Moon isn't much a hype. The jokes are stupid and just a short laugh. No pee leakage factor. Even Buffy in the movie got dissappointed. The plot is mostly similar, just with lame mishaps.

A waste to watch in the cinema and to get the dvd or even renting the dvd. Just wait till it comes out on TV or you can just d******d. Catch the drift?

Tekken

Based on the popular fighting game(I don't like fighting game) of the same name, a movie was born or more like a tele-movie.

The film follows Jin in attempt to enter the Iron Fist Tournament in order to avenge the loss of his mother by confronting the head of Tekken, Heichachi Mishima whom he blamed for his mothers death.

The fightings are not that fantastic but the character portrayal are quite close to the game counterpart.

You may love it or hate it. It feels more like a tele-movie than an actual movie.

Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang

Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang or the US calling it Nanny McPhee Returns is a feel good family movie.

It's about a farmers wife trying to make ends  meet while her husband is enlisted to war. On top of mishap of the farms, she will also be hosting her niece and nephew from the city. Tension arises between the kids and their cousins. Till Nanny McPhee arrives, and emphasizing in her 5 lessons of discipline, manners and accepting consequences of ones action. Upon each lesson being completed successfully, one of her unattractive features dissappears, finally revealing her true beauty.

If only Nanny McPhee will come to our modern day and teach kids nowaday her lessons. Then the future will be in a safer hands.

Step Up 3

First off, I've should have gotten the 3D tix. Throughout the movie, there were scenes which would be eye-popping in 3D.

Step Up was awesome, missed out Step Up 2 but Step Up 3 is awefully mesmerizing. Same story, someone new joins crew, prepare for battle, conflicts arises, crew still managed to battle at finals. No spoiler alert there.

But the dance routines and choreography are just damn mesmerizing with the flow of the camera. Feels like you're dancing along the rhythm of the beat. All the battle routines were fantastically choreographed to the highest expectation. The flow of round 1 was robotically insane, round 2 was splashtastic and round 3 was like lights along Orchard Road during Xmas, with little angels spinning the @$$ out.

A sure watch to be mesmerized by street dancing and it's film motion.

The Last Airbender

An anticipated movie that ended as a dissppointment if you're a follower to the cartoons.

The Last Airbender follows the first season of the cartoon series where you will meet Aang, Katara, Sokka, Zuko and many others introduced in the the first season. But the characters in the movie are missing the wacky essence from their cartoon counter part. Sad to say, it was a dread seeing Aang (pronounced as Ung in the movie) being so stern and too focused. He's a wild and unpredictable kid.

But M Night Shayamalan did a good job capturing the events and actions of the Four Nations.

Catch it if you don't follow the cartoon for the great action. If you do, just bring someone who follows the cartoon too to watch and start bitching about the movie till someone bitch back at you for being too noisy in the cinemas.

Rydikul Of Film Motion

I just love movies. Either at home or in the cinema, computer or iPod, with friends or alone, I just love watching them. Ever since my movie bible, First stopped publishing as a magazine, I kinda lost my resources for movie fix and reviews (which they sucked at it). Then again, everyone have their own opinions.

This blog is my opinions on the movies I've watched.  From motion experiences to plots(I'll raise a spoiler alert).

Enjoy!!
