So what would you do when you wake up one morning and see that planet Earth is being invaded and everyone on the streets are being abducted?
A. Continue to sleep
B. Scream like crazy
C. Go down and join the "Party" (Don't want to be left out)
D. Stay home, lock the doors, watch the news updates and pray extremely hard that your home is your best sanctuary
E. Run off to another town/country/planet/universe(where possible)

I'll choose option B and D.

Anyway, a couple came to LA for a friends birthday party. In the early morning, a bright light fell from the sky over many areas. Whoever looked into the light will be drawn to it and end up being sucked into it. So there was alot of option B going on at first and then option C. But since it's a movie, there's bound to be some "Heroic" act. So some chose and encourage everyone to go along with option E. Many were reluctant but due to peer pressure, they chose option E in the end.

So when they tried leaving the apartment, few of them got abducted. More like being eaten somehow. Anyway, this is when all of them think that option D wasn't a bad idea afterall. So they managed to go back to their apartment and lock the door and kept out of view.

But our hero still thinks that option E is still the best option. So he dragged his girlfriend along and ended being abducted.

Movie is so so. It kept me thinking of the options. The apartment is very similar to those in Singapore. So what would you do?

Paranormal Activity 2

This is an anticipated movie after I watched the first. PA2 is actually a parallel prequel to the first PA. I was shocked to see Cathy and Micah in the movie after knowing what happen to them.

The ghost or poltergeist or whatever it is haunting the Rey family. Unlike the first movie where they used their own personal camera, the Rey family uses the home security cameras and their camcorder. The ghost revolves around Rey's newborn, Hunter.

The paranormal activities are quite similar to the couple in the first movie. Apparently, they are related. It's still the shocking but with a static noise will keep you on the alert of the upcoming activity. This is when you'll scan the screen and see what mischief the ghost is up to and get a shock in your life. Eventough this is just a movie, the scenes are all quite real. With the people being dragged of the floor by an unseen force or when the wife was flung off the stairs. You'll wonder if it's real. And you'll know how the first Paranormal Activity is connected. Only the ending puzzles me, it happens after PA1 and knowing the ending, how was Cathy involved in the ending when she was killed by the police. Or is it the alternate ending that I didn't catch.

Devil

It has been awhile since I watch a movie anywhere. Been digging my nose in books. So on a nice and rainy weekend, I decided to catch some 2010 movies that I missed.

M Night Shayamalan Devil was one of the movie I missed. Knowing his work, there's always a twist or a moment of anticipation. This time he gave it away before you even start watching, the movie title, DEVIL.

Somehow you know who or what is expected in the ending but it's the motive that'll caught you wondering. That's M Night Shayamalan for you.

OK job on the suspense and a basic work for M Night Shayamalan for it's ulterior motives.

Jangan Pandang Belakang Congkak 2

Another malay movie for the win and this round was a horror comedy. Non on both for my account.

Jangan Pandang Belakang Congkak 2 fell into the Sequel-Disaster category, it's not as great as the first movie. But someone kept me watching till the end, Nora Danish. She became my new TV Crush. Melts my heart when she smiles.

Anyway, JPBC2 takes off where Pak Mor, a bomoh successfully healing the 3 cousins from the first movie and defeating Mustika. But Mustika survived and inform Pak Mor of her intention to gain the possesion of Pak Sudir.(All based on Jangan Pandang Belakang) Pak Mor joined her and schemed thru mystical ways.

Ratings: 1.5
It's really ain't that great. I continued watching mainly for Nora Danish.

Magika

The first movie of the year and it has to be a Malay movie. Hahahaha... No matter, it's a great movie by KRU productions and the directorial debut of Edry KRU. Plus it's a musical with a star studded cast of Malaysian singers.

There's my all time favorite KRU, Ziana Zain, Mawi, Ning Baizura and M Nasir. There's also the cast of Scenario, Saiful Apek, Aznil, lovely Maya Karin and my hot favourite girl, Sharifah Amani.

Brother and sister, Malik and Ayu had a querrel and Malik ran off into the woods. He accidentally dropped into the well. Ayu was sent to search for his brother and attempted to rescue her brother from the well, but encountered similar faith as her brother.

Both siblings ended up in a magical world of Magika, populated by folks of Malay legends. Malik was kidnapped by Nenek Kebayan (Witch) while Ayu befriended Bad (Badang) in search of her brother.
