A Very Harold and Kumar Christmas

This the season to be jolly, but not during Chinese New Year a month after. LOL. I was bored at home and managed to stumbled upon a show in my PC.

I've been loving the first two installment of Harold and Kumar, and having a third show is a blessing in 3D (shining down on me from the sky). Sadly, the show that I have is not in 3D.

Many years have passed and Harold has been married and not in contact with Kumar, believing he's a bad influence and "shit" happens when he's around. Through a Christmas miracle, the pair is join together in yet another zany adventure to save Christmas.

The third instalment does not re-use materials from it predecessor but do have some links to them. It's more refreshing to watch Harold and Kumar series than some other sequels.

Abduction

All grown up from Shark Boy to a hairy creature by transformation Jacob, Taylor Lautner is gaining popularism. His action persona is taking a step ahead in Abduction, an action thriller.

Nathan Harper (Lautner) is an ordinary high school teenager who got to know of his true identity from a missing child school project. He got to know that his known parent is not his true parents. Upon knowing his identity, he was hunted down. His foster parents were killed and Nathan sets out in search of his past.

Taylor Lautner seems awkward for an actor but his true action is quite awesome unlike his computer generated hairier self in Twilight. Plot is quite predictable but I guess people would be ogling over his many shirtless scenes.

Ombak Rindu

I've been reading Facebook posts and reviews about this latest Malay movie that I succumb into watching it. I'm not a Malay movie fan except for the late Yasmin Ahmad's because I get agitated by the plot and acting.

Maya Karin is an excellent actress but I'm having doubts on our local star turned Malaysian sensation, Aaron Aziz. Ombak Rindu is a love triangle story which focused on forced and secret marriages.

Izah(Maya) is a religious kampung girl who lives with her aunt and uncle in a kampung after both her parents passed away. Due to financial constrain, her uncle sold her off as a prostitute in Kuala Lumpur where she was drugged and rape. Harris(Aaron) bought her off the pimp after knowing that she was forced into prostitution.

Being a playboy, he kept Izah in his holiday cottage where he'll return for services. Being pious, Izah requested they wed so she will willingly provide rather than being forced. They both wed secretly and Harris grew to love her as a wife.

However, Harris was to wed his childhood sweetheart which he decides to break the ties but Mila loves him dearly and forced to be wed even though she knows that Harris is having an affair. The loves triangle is truly intense.

It would seem like typical love story but the aspect of faith, love and devotion compels the beauty of the show. Love is a sacrifice but it is beautiful to be held closely. All the while, people foretold that I love a simple "Yes Dear" wife and I blatantly disagree. After watching Ombak Rindu, I would so love someone like Izah minus the torment.
