Rango

My night dosage of stay-home remedy, Rango for laughter's the best medicine. Eccentric Johnny Depp is Rango who definitely tickle my funny bones. The whole wild west is not really my cup of tea but I've managed to survive through the course of the show.

Rango, a pet chameleon, got stranded in the Mojave dessert through an incident. Rango managed to meet other creatures in the small town called Dirt. Rango made up stories of himself as a drifter and proved worthy when he "accidentally" killed a predator hawk.

For that, he was appointed sheriff of Dirt. Though Dirt has a water problem, Rango was assigned to assist with the water shortage. With all the adventures in search of water, the town folks uncovers Rango as a lie. But through inspiration and hallucinations, Rango managed to save the day.

It's alright to think and dream big in Rango's case, which surely creates a positive feeling of oneself. But you have to walk the talk to make it worthwhile. It's all about the secret of law of attractions. Just be honest with yourselves, so others can trust you.

Just love Johnny Depp's quirky and eccentric characters though I struggled with the whole wild west atmosphere. It's so "dry". Get it?? Wild West!! Dry!! Get it???

Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules

Laughter is the best medicine, so I took a dosage of a comedy for my cold. I enjoyed the first Wimpy Kid for it's quirky storyline and adorable animation. Real-life casts will grow old , either you make it or break it. Just look at the Culkins.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid took place a year after the first movie(in life and on screen). Last installment was about friendship and this sequel is about siblings. The show brought a similar, if not relatively close sibling rivalry among all families. Tortured by the older siblings and the irritants of a spoilt younger sibling. It's not easy being a middle kid. I know!!!

It's definitely a kids movie, more towards the coming-of-age kind of show. It's nothing of the humorous kind , just the adorable and quirky kind that most pre-teen can relate. The adults might also be able to relate. Hey!! You guys were kids too. Not as if you came out the womb as an adult.

Kung Fu Panda 2

PO (Jack Black) returns for an AWESOME sequel, Kung Fu Panda 2 with fellow Furious Five (Not to be confused with the Vin Diesel flick). Most sequels struggles to match the great first movie but Kung Fu Panda 2 managed to maintain it's awesomeness as the first movie.

Since the first movie, the dragon warrior and the furious five became heroes defending helpless villages against wolves bandits. And with the return of an exiled heir to the city of Gongmen, the six warriors must venture to the city to stop the evil heir, Master Shen, a graceful peacock.

A puzzle from the first movie will be answered in this sequel. Go figure what was left unanswered in the first movie, it's obvious. And like the first movie, a great philosophy will help our hero excel in his destiny which would also apply in our daily life.

Overall great show and a high octane AWESOMENESS similar to original movie.

Insidious

Truthfully, I didn't know that Insidious was even produced. I've only knew about it when I was looking through the movie booking website when I saw this poster, which states from the makers of Paranormal Activity. I got glued by that. Both PA movies were awesome and they were some freaky sh!t. And luckily my brother wanted to catch it that very day. Pure awesome and strange for a person who don't really fancy horror movies.

Insidious is about the Lambert family that just moved into a new home. While everyone was away, the mother(Renai) experienced some disturbances. Later that day, their son(Dalton) got into a coma over 3 months where disturbing events became continuous.

Renai pleaded Josh(the father) to move and they did. But the disturbances followed and grew more violent than at the previous home. The family seeks help from a paranormal activities specialist.

From this point onwards, after knowing the motives of the haunting, everything when down the drain. The first half is as horrific and disturbing as Paranormal Activities. It made me shrieked at one point. That was how scary it was for someone who used to see such things. But after knowing the motives of the haunting, it became slightly lame. The events were quite freaky but not scary anymore. They could have penned a better motives. And in the ending, it was just gruesome. A similar event to the Shutter(Thai version)

Priest

My movie reviews have been on a crawl as of late. I haven't had much time to catch the latest movies or just that there isn't much interesting movies lately and there any much past movies that I need to catch.

Apparently, I wanted to catch Paul because I love the dynamic duo of Simon Pegg and Nick Frost but both cinema in Tampines does not showcase. Hence, I ended catching Priest. Watching the trailer in past cinema visit, the show intrigued me. Seems like Assassin Creed with a Underworld in a futuristic point of view.

A group of heroes known simply as Priest were disbanded after infiltrating a vampire hive including losing of a member. The war heroes were left on their own to survive in the densely populated of the Cathedral City. A sheriff from a slum of the wasteland brought news of an attack on his family, the Priest goes against the church to find his missing niece.

Priest does not contain much originality. It overshadows Assassin Creed with a "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" Chosen One where a selected few are trained to go against the vampires. The vampires breeds are too similar to Resident Evil Seekers or Star Wars Rancor. The whole future seems like a those of the game Fallout, a world in ruins after a great war. The plot is quite straight forward, which nearly made me fell asleep a couple of times. And they are doing justice for temptress, Maggie Q by defacing her.

Fast 5

First, they introduced high octane street racing in The Fast and the Furious, them they incorporate street racing as an undercover in 2 Fast 2 Furious. Next, they brought you to Tokyo to experience a different kind of street racing in Tokyo Drift. The original team of The Fast and the Furious returned for revenge in Fast & Furious. And now, the fifth installment Fast Five brings back the gang from past 4 shows.

The show starts off from Fast & Furious where Brian planned the escape of Dom from a prison transport. To stay off the radar, the brother, sister and boyfriend fled to Rio De Janeiro where they took on a job in retrieving 3 cars from a moving train. During the job, they realized that the cars were seized properties with DEA agents on board. With the stake went higher on them, a team of elites were sent to capture the trio.

Digging up the reason of the stolen car, Brian, Dom and Mia traced the car to the corrupt businessmen in Brazil who has the whole police force under him. The trio planned a heist against him, bringing back a team from all 4 installments of the Fast and Furious franchise.

The action sequences and stunts are by far the best of all 5 F&F movies. There isn't much computerized effects and the jokes are catchy. Bringing in 2 bald brawn (Vin Diesel and The Rock), facing each other with the impact of titans. And lastly, the cars, it's all about the cars in F&F. The beauty of Ford GT40, the soothing Koenigsegg CCXR and the awesomeness of the police car and  the matte black sexiness of Dodge Charger.

Do stay for the post-credit scene, a return of another character of the franchise which probably in the sixth installment.

By far the best Fast and Furious movie
