The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

I've been yearning to read Stieg Larsson's novel for the longest time but my timing has been stretched to the longest time with multiple activities. Once I can managed the time, I had to cheat by watching the The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo rather than reading it.

I did not watch the original Swedish version but by comparing the 2 two actress, Lisbeth (Rooney Mara) in the American version is more mentally unsound than the Swedish counterpart and who can't get enough of Daniel Craig. He's a great actor for English thrillers if you can classify James Bond as a thriller.

The story is dead slow. Mikhael (Craig) was hired to investigate the disappearance and a possible murder of a grandniece in exchange for valuable information against a businessman that won a libel case against Mikhael.

As the story unfolds, I get drawn into the mysteries of the investigation and the psychological thinking of Lisbeth which lead to a less expected love connection to Mikhael.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is very gritty but slow. A great thriller with great actors and storyline. I wouldn't mind catching the next installment.
