For those that went for Singapore's National Service might have heard about the abandoned original camp 1 of Pulau Tekong and the reason of it's abandonment. 23:59 is mostly about the show.

Most of the camp1 stories are shown in the movie, about the missing recruit found dead (but without the gory parts shown) during route march, follow your buddy to the toilet and he's not there when you check upon him in the cubicle, the bouncing ball under your bed, the lady and the boy pointing to the one not asleep, and the extra count during number-off. Yup all scary bits are there but us NS guys have heard the story so we kinda expected it.

From what I've known, each haunting are not connected but in 23:59, it all seemed to be connected. Hence the plot which tends to be a bit lame especially the ending. Maybe the show should just exclude ghost stories without motives, just endless scares.

Again I love watching ghost movies at night but due to some technical difficulties, I had to watch it on my iPad. Watching a horror movie with earphones plugged in may not be the wisest choice. The sound effect might just freak you out.
