Battleship

A movie from a board game, I really got skeptical about it. I can't even recall the last time I played the game. Who knows, they might just do Snakes and Ladders.

Battleship is done by those who produced the Transformers series and bet some great action sequences minus the talking changing robots. Awesome battle scenes after 30 mins through the show that is very engaging throughout the show.

The cast line up are fantastic too. We got Taylor Kitsch (he played Gambit) as our main hero, Liam Neeson (Qui-Gon Jinn or Aslan - you know??), Alexander Skarsgard (The sexy vampire of True Blood) and Rihanna (the Singer... as if you don't know). Sadly the cast are improperly utilized.

The action scene are epic but similar to those of Transformers but over the coastline action. It's more like the destruction of Pearl Harbor substituted with alien battleship. The sequences follows closely to the board game and it was quite nice to watch.

Story wise, there isn't much you can expect from a straight forward game. Battle tactics and maneuvers are the main action storyline with a bit of emotional ending for a character (a cast who has an early departure). Just stay glued to the action and nothing else. Well, Rihanna did a good job with her character. She's a bad @$$.

Overall, the show was okay to watch, just don't expect epic plot. If there's a sequel, I really wonder where they dug the idea from? Hungry Hippos???
