Yet another film by Tim Burton, Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter. Would one ever get tired of them. Apparently, I'm still drawn to the gothic characters and quirky scenes.Dark Shadows is about a family cursed by a jealous witch Angelique (the sultry Eva Green) who has been yearning for love from Barnabas Collins. Unable to get his affections, she cursed him into a vampire and buried him alive (errmmm... undead).
After 200 years (194 corrected Angelique), Barnabas got free and returns to Collinswood. He met his distance cousin and learnt the fate of the Collins family name. With his secret stash of valuables, Barnabas agrees to bring back the Collins name.
Definitely a great cast and a bit of humor here and there. I'm not sure whether Tim Burton is mellowing or just loosing his touch. His scenes are less quirky and story is a tad slow but people still hate to love his shows.
