The Awakening

Right, another brilliant idea to watch a freaky English horror movie in the night alone. I have no idea what compels me to do it after incidences while I was young. Maybe it's just the thrill that I'm missing.

I've caught the Awakening trailer and thought it could be as great as The Woman in Black. Some what similar and spooky, I squinted a few.

The story revolves around Florence, an author on supernatural hoaxes. She was asked to investigate the death of a boy in a boarding school after claiming that he kept seeing a ghostly boy. Evidents presented to her of pictures of the ghostly boy but she refuses the first offer and finally accepted the investigation.

The boarding school was not as spooky as the house featured in the Woman in Black. It's huge and well occupied by the students but it got scary during the night and scarier while the students went home for the holiday. There's nothing that goes bump in the night but mostly jingles by the apparatus that Florence set up around the most area the ghost was sighted. It really was scary but just an occassional scare (You'll squint thinking what will come up).

To every supernatural mystery, there'll be a conclusion. It's not that dramatic but the ending kept you pondering but I think it's obvious.
